Suitable for 1 to 1.5 pounds of tenderloin.

The Basic

Lightly rub olive oil over the pork tenderloin, then sprinkle with sea salt and pepper, to taste.

Fresh and Lemony

Combine 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp freshly chopped garlic, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 tsp finely grated lemon rind, plus sea salt and pepper to taste. In a big ziplock bag, combine the mixture and the pork tenderloin and turn to make sure it's evenly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

Savory Herbed Tenderloin

Combine 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp freshly chopped garlic, 1/2 tbsp fresh chopped rosemary, 1/2 tsp fresh chopped thyme, 1/2 tsp onion powder, just a pinch of dry mustard, plus sea salt and pepper to taste. Pour over the pork, turn to coat, and marinate in the refrigerator.

Sweet & Sassy

Combine 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp garlic, 1/2 cup of real maple syrup, and 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard. Combine all ingredients, then place in a ziplock bag with the pork. Turn to coat. Marinate for several hours or overnight, refrigerated.

Honey Ginger Glazed

Combine 1/4 cup of liquid honey, 2 tbsp of brown sugar, 2 tsp ground ginger, 2 tbsp fresh chopped garlic, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, plus salt to taste. Reserve a couple of tablespoons of marinade. Combine the remaining marinade with the pork, turn to coat the pork, and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. When grilling this pork, you can use the reserved marinade to baste the pork and create a nice glaze.

Barbecuing Instructions

  • Set up your BBQ for indirect heat.
  • Lightly oil the cooking grate.
  • Set temperature to medium-hot.
  • Cook for about 25-30 minutes, turning once. You can remove it just before it's done - put the tenderloin on a cutting board and then place a foil 'tent' over it. The pork will continue to cook. Let rest 10 minutes before cutting.

Pork tenderloin is very lean and cooks quickly, so watch it carefully so that it doesn't get dry and overdone. There should be just a hint of pink in the middle when it's ready (if you're using a meat thermometer, cook to 160 degrees F). There are so many easy ways to prepare barbecue pork tenderloin, and it cooks so fast. It's ideal for those days you don't have a lot of time to prepare dinner.
